Use Anam for education, not real-world diagnosis or patient care. Keep real patient information out of the app, check AI output against trusted clinical sources, protect your account, and use the service fairly.
1. Your agreement with Anam
These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Anam, an educational clinical-simulation service operated from Ghana. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Anam, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
If you use Anam on behalf of a school, employer, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Purpose and eligibility
Anam is intended for students, clinicians, and other healthcare learners who want to practise history-taking, clinical reasoning, communication, and reflection using fictional scenarios.
You must be legally able to enter this agreement. If the law where you live requires permission or supervision because of your age, you may use Anam only with that permission and supervision.
3. Accounts and security
Provide accurate account information or a clearly chosen study alias, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless the activity resulted from Anam's failure to use reasonable security measures.
Do not share an account in a way that bypasses plan limits, impersonate another person, or create accounts to evade restrictions. You may export your data or delete your account from Profile.
4. Educational use only
Anam is not a healthcare provider, medical device, emergency service, diagnostic system, or source of medical advice. Its content does not replace formal teaching, clinical supervision, local guidelines, professional judgement, or consultation with an appropriately qualified clinician.
Never use Anam's output to diagnose, investigate, treat, triage, or make decisions for a real person. If someone may need medical help, use the appropriate local clinical or emergency service.
5. Keep real patient information out of Anam
Anam's patients and cases are intended to be fictional. You must not enter confidential or identifiable information about a real patient, including names, dates of birth, contact details, addresses, photographs, hospital numbers, or distinctive combinations of clinical facts.
You are responsible for complying with professional duties, school or employer rules, and privacy law. Anam is not an approved electronic health record or clinical-data repository.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use Anam unlawfully, fraudulently, or to harm, harass, discriminate against, or deceive others.
- Attempt to bypass security, access another account, probe infrastructure, or introduce malicious code.
- Automate excessive requests, scrape the service, or interfere with fair access for other learners.
- Reverse engineer protected parts of Anam except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Use generated content to train or operate a competing service without written permission.
- Present Anam output as verified clinical advice or as work you independently completed where that would be dishonest.
Reasonable educational evaluation, accessibility tools, and ordinary study use are welcome. Contact us if you need permission for research, institutional deployment, or another non-standard use.
7. AI-generated content and assessment limitations
Anam uses AI. Simulated patients, case details, transcripts, reference material, scores, feedback, recommendations, and follow-up exercises may be inaccurate, incomplete, inconsistent, culturally imperfect, or unsuitable for a particular curriculum.
Check important content against current, trusted sources and local guidance. Scores are learning signals, not formal grades, licensing decisions, employment decisions, or proof of clinical competence. You remain responsible for how you interpret and use Anam's output.
8. Your submissions
You keep ownership of original content you submit. You give Anam a limited, worldwide licence to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service and provide features to you.
You confirm that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not violate another person's rights or confidentiality. If you send product feedback, you allow Anam to use it without an obligation to compensate you, but we will not publicly identify you without permission.
9. Anam's service and content
Anam and its licensors retain rights in the application, visual design, software, prompts, generated-case systems, learning frameworks, branding, and other service materials. These terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Anam for its intended educational purpose.
Third-party names, tools, and content remain the property of their respective owners. No licence is granted except as expressly stated here.
10. Plans, limits, and payments
Anam may offer free access, trials, usage limits, paid plans, sponsored access, or other arrangements. Features, limits, and prices shown before purchase form part of your order. We may change future plans or limits, but we will not retroactively change a completed purchase.
Payments may be processed by a third-party checkout provider under its own terms. Taxes, renewal, cancellation, and refund rights may depend on the plan, payment provider, and mandatory consumer law where you live. Nothing here removes rights that applicable law does not allow you to waive.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep Anam available and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. AI providers, hosting services, networks, browsers, and other dependencies can fail or change. We may maintain, update, replace, limit, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary.
Where practical, we will give notice before a material change that significantly reduces a paid feature. Keep copies of any information you cannot afford to lose.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Anam or delete your account at any time. We may restrict or suspend access when we reasonably believe an account threatens security, breaks these terms, abuses service capacity, creates legal risk, or remains unpaid for a paid service.
Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow a reasonable opportunity to correct the problem. Provisions that logically continue after termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and limits of liability, will remain in effect.
13. Disclaimers and limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anam is provided "as is" and "as available" without promises that every case, response, score, or recommendation is accurate or suitable. Educational outcomes vary, and use of Anam does not guarantee examination, academic, professional, or clinical success.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anam will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, loss of data, lost opportunity, or decisions made from AI output. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable rights under consumer-protection law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, without removing mandatory protections available to you under the law where you live. Before starting formal proceedings, you and Anam agree to try in good faith to resolve a dispute by contacting the other party. Subject to mandatory local rights, disputes may be brought before the courts of Ghana.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as Anam develops. We will post the revised terms here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when a change is material. Continued use after the effective date of updated terms means you accept them, unless the law requires another form of consent.
